In bed with darkness, thoughts derailing fast,
Motionlessly mannequin, I'm harassed
By nerves that release my anxiety.
My fears escalate deep inside of me.
In bed with darkness, thoughts of future days,
I'm overwhelmed by zombies in the craze
Of following the old-styled status quo.
My vision was impaired long time ago.
In bed with darkness, thoughts that give me hope,
Imagine a mountain with a steep slope
That must be climbed to reap what I have sowed.
My deep desires are painted on this road.
In bed with darkness, thoughts are fueling goals,
Endowed with great purpose, I know my role
In building life's legacy, my regime.
My eyes are focused as I chase my dream.

Burned Out
They don't know what to do, they're burned out like me
A fire that's been lit for far too long like me
They're thinking what a hopeless case like me
"she isn't even getting better," like me
"why does she self-sabotage?" like me
But do they even understand what it's like to be like me?
I'm burned out, but they don't feel the burn like me
I'm fed up, but they don't feel the fire like me
Do you understand what it's like to have your teenagehood wiped away like me?
They say the grass is greener on the other side but it's wilted like me
They define crazy as a word to be like me
But is it crazy to scream for help into the void like me?

Watching Innocence Die
I sit alone watching intently
I watch the young spirit
She smiles wide
It brings warmth to my heart
To see such a sunny smile again
The smile that has been ripped off of me
I miss that smile
That girl sits in her classroom drawing
She draws what she wants to be
She wants to be a princess, a fairy, a hero, everything.
I sit and stare at the imagination
Her innocence and beauty shines like sparkling diamonds
She believes, she smiles, she lives.
She is life.
I was life.
I was her once.
I had innocence, I had her beauty, I had the light in my heart.
But it was put out like a candle.
The spirit inside me broke
It's dead
It lef
